After attending the Hotchkiss School, Gene studied mathematical biology and graduated as a Benjamin Franklin Scholar from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016.
Two years later, Gene entered into an apprenticeship in Bethesda, Maryland, working with a select group of extraordinary Ph.D tutors who were distinguished by their passion for teaching and resolute commitment to their students.
Under the guidance of these tutors, it was here, working with up to six students at a time, that Gene uncovered the potential of expert interdisciplinary learning to help students consistently surpass their academic expectations.
From working with the same students for many years, Gene developed a reputation for his college admissions support and personalizing his teaching to meet all of his students’ needs throughout their high school journey.
Seeking to experiment how to elevate the personalized tutoring experience, Gene relocated to Irvine, California, in 2023. Drawing on his years of experience working closely with hundreds of students, he founded allwhither to integrate an all-in-one approach with the tailored focus of 1-on-1 instruction.
